• The executive of the Friends of Queen E. Society liaises with Community Services and periodically visit the construction site to keep up to date on construction of the new pool.


• A committee was struck to plan in liaison with the City’s Community Services for the opening ceremonies at pool site. City officials set July 9th  for the grand opening of the new pool by the City of Edmonton. At a date to be determined the society will stage a social event to acknowledge the supporters of the pool project.


• The society continues its fundraising for enhancement of pool amenities, e.g. to buy a one- and a three-meter diving board.
  
  
• Specially embroidered Queen E. Pool bath towels are for sale @ $ 25 /towel at the Running Room c/o the Kinsmen Sports Centre.


• The executive will examine the society's role in transition from advocacy to a citizen voice once the new pool is operational and public input is welcome.


• August 3rd 2011 – 89th anniversary of the original pool’s opening.
